When good IPhones go bad.. Message looping issue

I had an issue reported to our Help Desk submitted by another agency, it seem one of our users had accepted a meeting request in which resulted in 600+ responses and still continuing. I checked the message queues on Exchange and found the messages piling up from the user; I visited the user’s desk to find his PC, Iphone, and Ipad. After turning them all off and then powering them back on one at a time while testing I found that the Iphone was the culprit. There where no visible messages in the outbox on the phone, and the problem continued after several reboots. The final solution to the issue was to remove the Exchange Activesync profile and re-added it. The only symptom to our end user was a sudden rapid battery drain.
